- About Me:
- Los Kung-Fu Monkeys are a six-piece Punk & Ska Band out of Tijuana. That infamous border town known for it's zebra-like spray painted donkeys, velvet paintings and a revolution. No not the street filled with clubs for tourist and hookers but the musical and art revolutionary movement now taking place in Tijuana.
Drawing inspiration from Punk & Ska bands such as the Voodoo Glow Skulls, Rancid, Suicide Machines, Sick Of It All, Drop kick murphys, The clash, operation ivy, Bad Religion, the ramones, plus others and from the surroundings of their border town, killer bass riffs and great keyboard harmonies. Los KFM as they are also known consist of Bernie , brothers Hassan (bass) & Tarek (guitar), jesse (Guitar)Hecky on drums, tony (sax) Esteban ..boards . Also a great Horn Section of Guest Musicians.
The band has been a familiar face in the TJ punk scene ever since they started back in 1998, but since their first release "Rebuilding The World" dropped in 2001 the band has played at some of the most important venues in the U.S.A. including 3 dates in the 2005 Vans Warped Tour and played with the likes of Union 13, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Buck O'Nine, Suicide Machines, Youth Brigade, Mad Caddies, suicide the adicts ,F-Minus, Finch, Pistol Grip, The Casualties, Guttermouth,citizen fish, Dropkick Murphys, The Slackers, The Al mighty MISFITS and legendary bands from Latin America . Apart from that they have toured Mexico eight times playing at all the important cities like Monterrey, Chihuahua, Guadalajara, Mexico City plus smaller cities like Hermosillo, San Luis Potosi, Mazatlan and many others. Touring Mexico extensively is a feat that only bands with deep pockets have been able to do, but Los KFM have established such a loyal following that this has been possible for them and toured Europe for the first time 2007.
Los Kung-Fu Monkeys are set to take over stages everywhere with their energetic live show. also got added to the 2006 Warped Tour Compilation the first Mexican and latinamerican band to be on it.
