SKA Band
About Me:
JohnyComesLately(JCL) emerged from the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur trying to salvage the pride of Ska, Punk and Reggae in our community with the other bands parading the same type of music. JCL who can be considered as an avid Ska Punk and Reggae band since early 2007, are newcomers to the wonderful scene. JCL are also influenced by the melodious ska/punk and reggae beats of their Japanese ska and Jamaican reggae idols.
JCL managed to release their first single in early 2008 which was called “Johny” and also played their first gig in One Café called “Tribute to Bob Marley”. Their first single raised some eyebrows and received various comments on and off stage after being played. JCL also had successfully covered some songs from their idols Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Goldfinger and Catch 22. Here, they also have covered namely the famous song by The Alleycats called “Di Tengah Kota”.
JCL practically started with Abby (The Silent 4 and Hoarse Voices), Bijat (Ups and Downstrokes), Dex (Hot Shot Trumps) and Dzafeer (Snares and Thuderbolts) during their first few months. There were a few changes in their line up namely Abah(Slides and Glides) and Reshad (Slides and Glides) who joined and left due to some unforeseen circumstances. It was until a few months later when Dane Solo (Tenor and the Insurgents), ATT (Alto and the Melodies) and latest Alief (Hot Shot Trumps) joined them. Dex then moved from Trumpets to Trombones to complete the ultimate 7 members of JCL.

great! i would love to hear your EP! email to alriddell@hotmail.co.uk anytime! Well you obviously have a great taste in ska bands, also try the slackers for their sheer coolness and deals gone bad for a different kind of style.
