Where SKAspotters Socialize!

I am a dyed in the wool Tommy McCook fan for many years (see my tribute to him at www.myspace.com/tommymccooktribute) but have recently gone back and discovered the work of BaBa Brooks.... lots of great stuff out there. Of course Don Drummond and Roland Alphonso stand out as well but don't overlook a guy like Cedric Brooks either. Who are some of the artists that you are into?

I was just listening to some Ba Ba Brooks today and thinking "Wow, I need to find more of this." Any chance you know where I could find some more? I only have a few tracks.

I've been listening to a lot of Toots lately, a lot of OLD Bob Marley, like, pre-reggae old. Then I've been listening to of course, Laurel aitken, but also The silvertones, A lot of Millie Small, Rolando Alphonso, A WHOLE lot of Judge Dredd (I would classify it as trad) Symarip, Eric Morris (Oil in my lamp almost brought me to tears the first time I heard it.) and COXSONE DODD! (Sit down servant did bring a tear to my eye the first time I really listened to the words.) I've been trying to focus on traditional ska influenced by Jazz, R&B, Gospel, and blues lately.

What, no Desmond Dekker?? This Woman is in my top five of "old school" ska.
