How do you expect people to respond to your question?

Are you asking for recommendations for ska music that keeps it's steady, danceable beat? Anything but ska punk will do the trick, particularly and especially first wave stuff.

I'm not sure what type of music you're looking to dance to, but if you look around on here and all over the internet, I'm sure you'll find something. I always tell folks to get ska compilations from trojan records.

If the guitar skanks and the bass walks then you can skank to it. If the guitar doesn't skank it's not really a ska band. That would be like having a salsa band you couldn't salsa to or a swing band you couldn't swing to. Your choice of bands should just be a matter of how you want to dance and how fast. More traditional ska bands will let you skank really deep like you would to reggae whereas more punk-influenced bands will let you jump around more.

Oh yeah, and I would take up the Uptones on their offer--they're great to dance to and money for dancing sounds like a great combination.
