A lot of people have been requesting a calendar. Ning was supposed to release one in March but it never happened. I decided to utilize the "Upcoming" service on Yahoo coupled with Google Calendar to bring SKA Summit a comprehensive show calendar that users can contribute to (if they sign up for an account on Upcoming that is). I personally would rather us a calendar that doesn't require any extra memberships besides your SKA Summit member account but hey... there had to be a compromise somewhere. The next thing I thought would be nice is a sticky note style bulletin board where bands/promoters could post fliers and links to show info. My solution was Lino... No doubt you noticed the calendar and sticky notes at the bottom of SKA Summit. My question is what do you think? Do you prefer just the calendar? Both? Have another solution?
The Yahoo link works well, but I noticed that The Skasifieds switched to this format too...however you can do better searches for your area based on thier zip code option. - that might be a feature to consider..
I really don't want to be a whiney pain in the ass, but the original Ska Summit and OC Ska sites were extremely up to date on local shows and were also very user friendly to make it wicked easy to find shows where you could litterally narrow down searches by area code. But this system kind of seems like anarchy. Once again, sorry if this isn't constructive but I haven't been to a show in awhile and my boots are getting itchy.
