Where SKAspotters Socialize!

I need some help...

I have reccently been getting into a lot of third wave ska. Early to mid 90s especially. NOT SKA PUNK. but I am having a hard time finding bands that are not ska punk. I'm talking about bands like Let's Go Bowling, The Toasters, or Undercover S.K.A.

I really want some of these style bands to add to my collection, so if you could list some of your favorites, lemme know.

NOT SK-PUNK.

Not to butter your bread, but Bigger Thomas was top band for me at the first 3Floors, and I was sad/pissed they didn't make this last one.

It's good to see the Pilfers are still going! And actually, I'll be seeing The Beat and Bad Manners over the next few days!

Hope you guys will make it out here soon!!!

I'm not sure why you felt to comment on my selections, but just because a band isn't together anymore doesn't mean that their CDs don't work...the third wave bands of today don't hold a candle to the excellent bands of yesterday.

The Agents are back together. They play an occasional show every now and then. I was hoping they'd be on the bill at the RI BossToneS show, but no.

You're right about Monkey, they don't really fit the 'recent' tag. I just get that vibe from them for some reason....maybe because I just discovered them about a year ago and they never mingled with the early-90s Moon Ska crowd that I'm intimately familiar with

The Cat Empire have been around for quite some time... since '99, I believe.

Skibz... maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it was never my intention to "call you out" on anything. Infact I was kind of honored to be a member of a band you considered "A Must" in terms of 3rd wave ska (as it is a genre VERY near and dear to my heart)

I just realized though you probably didn't recognize my REAL name (Chris Malone). I post on other boards as "Chris Da Maddog". So, since I just realized how that got there, I'll switch it for you

Hell, I've bought shirts from you on ebay before!

I was just trying to provide some background for the bands listed.

I would have done the other post too eventually.. but I'm at work...

I know who you are. And I wasn't offended or thought you were 'calling me out'. I just thought it was odd to analyze each of my picks.
